Bao Nguyen is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of The Blackfin Group, bringing more than 25 years of hands-on leadership in the global offshore oil and gas industry. His career spans six continents and more than 20 countries, where he has led complex engineering and construction efforts in some of the world’s most demanding environments—from deepwater subsea installations in West Africa and South America to structural assessments across Europe and major pipeline developments in the Gulf of Mexico.
A former U.S. Navy submarine officer and nuclear engineer, Bao blends military discipline with deep technical and commercial expertise. His experience encompasses offshore project management, engineering leadership, risk analysis, HSE oversight, and business development, allowing him to bridge strategy and execution with precision.
As CEO, Bao sets The Blackfin Group’s strategic direction, oversees operational performance, and drives sustainable growth. Under his leadership, the firm delivers high-impact, technically complex solutions with an unwavering commitment to safety, efficiency, and client success.
Glenn Tucker is a founding partner and Chief Technology Officer of The Blackfin Group, bringing more than two decades of hands-on experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. He leads the firm’s engineering strategy and technical execution across a broad range of complex offshore projects.
Glenn’s background spans pipeline and structural design, installation engineering, vessel modifications, and the development of procedures for subsea infrastructure, platforms, and riser systems in both shallow- and deepwater environments. He has overseen engineering efforts on projects worldwide, combining deep technical knowledge with practical field experience to solve demanding offshore challenges.
As CTO, Glenn ensures The Blackfin Group delivers innovative, efficient, and reliable engineering solutions. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Ocean Engineering and is highly proficient in a wide range of industry standards and engineering tools.
Douglas Poteet is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of The Blackfin Group, bringing more than 30 years of global engineering and offshore project management experience. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles on complex subsea infrastructure and marine pipeline projects for major energy clients around the world.
Douglas has successfully guided projects from concept through execution across both deepwater and shallow-water environments, with a consistent focus on operational efficiency, safety, and technical rigor. His hands-on leadership and practical understanding of offshore execution enable him to translate engineering intent into reliable, field-ready solutions.
As COO, Douglas oversees day-to-day operations and project delivery, ensuring The Blackfin Group maintains the highest standards of performance while delivering innovative, high-value solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients and stakeholders.
